"A Hot Summer Day in Oregon" digital art piece features a Fuju Persimmon tree as the main character in the scene. As I was crafting the image, I was captivated by the dark and brooding beauty of the monochromatic scene. In retrospect, I am pretty sure this art came through me to give me some relief from the grief I was feeling over climate change, the wildfires that swept through Oregon (and California), and experiencing the deadly record hot 115-degree summer temperatures every living thing suffered through (or died from).
On a happier note...have you seen a persimmon tree in the fall, when the crispy brown leaves have all fallen and cover the ground, and the fruits remain on the tree?
