Hello and welcome—I’m Cynthia DuVal, contemporary expressionist painter, designer, and creativity psychologist.
My work brings together fine art, design, and a lifelong passion for understanding how imagination, creative exploration, and emerging technologies shape our minds, lives, and cultures.
I grew up in Oregon, surrounded by orchards, gardens, and a family that celebrated art and education. Early roots in creativity, nature, and community continue to inspire the paintings, prints, and apparel I create today.
My portfolio of original paintings, archival art prints, designer fabrics, and apparel spans decades—and is for people seeking the beauty of nature and the depth of art history, color, and self-expression in everyday life. My work has found homes with collectors, interior designers, and style-minded clients who value art that sparks deep thought, aesthetic pleasure, and conversation.
Each piece is created to bring the vitality of gardens and wild landscapes into interiors—transforming them into emotionally safe places to spend time at home, look deep and wonder.
Now based in Portland, Oregon, I create from my studio in the city’s industrial/creative district at 310 SE Stephens Street.
The outside door is always locked: please use my website contact form to schedule a visit, a call or Zoom meeting with me. I will need your name and phone number, and the reason for your visit. I will get back to you to schedule a time.
I enjoy welcoming visitors into my creative space to show art. I also provide an Artist Journey Mentoring Service designed for mid-career writers and visual artists who want outside eyes on their work, create a strategic plan for their artist journey, and achieve a healthy work/life balance.
